Experience a transformative journey unlike any other, immersed in the pristine beauty of the Costa Rican Jungle. Led by Martin Wheeler, a true master of the Martial arts martial healing philosophies, and he will lead us expertly through the martial art of Systema. Each day will be a harmonious blend of combat exploration and cleansing rituals for the mind, body, and spirit. The warrior arts are intricately linked to the process of mental and physical purification, both before and after combat, offering invaluable preparation for the challenges of everyday life.

Martin Wheeler's expertise as a combat trainer for elite forces such as the Navy SEALs, DEA, and SWAT teams, combined with his pioneering work in neurobiology and performance studies at Harvard University, provides a unique framework for our journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

In the embrace of the jungle, with its pure air, fresh water, and vibrant life, you'll find a supportive environment conducive to growth and transformation. Surrounded by lush greenery and flowing rivers, you'll witness the cycles of life, death, decay, and rebirth, mirroring your own transformative process.

Nature's power is palpable here, with storms capable of completely changing terrain, reminding us of our place within the larger tapestry of existence. It is an awe striking and humbling experience to be surrounded by such force, support, and gentleness all at once, and one that is bound to change those who have the privilege to experience it.

Getting Here:

Your adventure begins...

When we say “we’re out in the jungle,” we mean it, once you land in the Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) its time to make your way out to the H.O.M.E. Farm. This journey can be an adventure in itself.

Important note: DO NOT BOOK TO SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA… This mistake can happen.

There are a few different ways to get fro SJO to our home base, each with its own advantages and disadvantages:

  • Puddle Jumper plane with SANSA- limited bag size (30 lbs./14 kgs and maximum dimensions of 45 inches / 114 cm. (length + height + width). 100 usd

  • Bus Ride with MUSOC unlimited baggage- 3-4 hours of travel, some people find it scary as the bus traverses a mountain pass, The drivers are very competent and its quite a pretty ride. This is NOT a public bus you must buy your ticket in advance, however the seats are more comfortable and its cheaper than a SANSA flight.

  • If a group of 4 or more arrive at the same time we can arrange a shuttle.

  • Private car for hire or rent a car- (more expensive options)

Most of these options will take you to a dropoff point where we will send someone to come get you and bring you the rest of the way to the H.O.M.E. Farm to begin your adventure in earnest.

About Costa Rica:

Costa Rica is home to 5% of the world’s biodiversity. You never really know what you will encounter here, but it's safe to say it will be wild and beautiful. It is not uncommon to encounter a variety of creatures, including vibrant bugs, sloths, reptiles, and mammals. There is a family of howler monkeys on the home farm site that often make an appearance.
Costa Rica has two seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. The weather has been unpredictable in recent years, but December typically marks the true beginning of the dry season. Rivers will be full, vegetation will be lush, and the weather should be pleasant with some sporadic rain. Sun exposure is significant, so those who burn easily should bring sunscreen and other sun protection, as well as bug repellent. Temperatures will be high, so bring cool clothing for both training and relaxing.
Whether you come for one of the retreats or both, we recommend setting aside some time to explore. We are in the southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica, about thirty minutes inland from Dominical, and the surrounding area offers a plethora of activities and sights. We will visit a few of our favorites and the most spectacular during the course of this training but there is much more to see and do!

H.O.M.E Farm

Heaven on mother earth…

a regenerative sanctuary and educational center nestled in the heart of the Diamanté Valley, Costa Rica. if you wish to learn more…

Link To Home Farm Website:

A stunning property nestled in the heart of the Diamante Valley.

We are at the top of a very special waterfall with mostly private river access (pictured above) The grounds of the Home farm are truly beautiful, and include the river and a massive Ceiba tree as well as various plants and creatures. If you want a place to connect to nature and restore… THIS IS IT!

Think… Glamping! The cottages onsite are beautifully handmade, rustic spaces. There are showers with hot water (heated by the sun) Composting toilets, and 2 standard toilets by the communal space. Be prepared to be immersed in nature! We share the land with many a critter, which is part of the adventure! Last retreat one of the rooms even had a hawk- visitor. A special experience for all involved.

Generally, it will be quite warm and humid, so be prepared for your clothing to quickly become wet or damp. We can hang it up in the dry room as needed, and laundry is available on-site upon request for an additional charge. It can be chilly during travel, particularly for those taking the MUSOC bus over the mountain pass. It is also possible (though unlikely) that we experience a slightly chilly night. If you tend to get cold easily, we recommend bringing something cozy but light (it must fit in your bag) to the cave.
